“Hey, would you mind filling in for just one Sunday?” If someone at your church asks you that, RUN! Or you, too, may find yourself posting on your blog after a few decades of serving, working, loving (mostly) youth ministry.
Want a few bio details? You’d have more fun watching Survivor…but here goes: Steve, my hubby of forever, and I live in Houston, TX. We have 7 bio kids between the two of us and a few chosen children God sent us along the way.
I never intended to make a career of church ministry. I was going to make big bucks as either a lawyer or in the music biz. I took my first youth job till something better came along. I was dumb.
I’ve served 5 churches over 30+years with youth groups from intimate to huge. I like something about each size but I just told Steve last night that my favorite size group are the ones where I can count the kids on my appendages. Came home from a Christmas Lockout/Lockin which was SO fun, even I can’t stop talking about it!
That’s about it folks. Nothing exciting; just moving through life obeying God’s call to talk with teens and teen workers. One of the gang.
